Best Lemon Cake Recipe
Here’s the best lemon cake recipe I’ve ever tried. It’s light and sweet with just the right amount of tartness to make my taste buds sing. You can enjoy it plain or top it with a yummy icing.
Ingredients:
- 6 eggs
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Zest of 1 lemon
Lemon Cake Baking Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
- Separate the egg yolks from the whites then beat the whites until stiff peaks form in it. In a separate bowl beat the egg yolks and add your lemon zest, lemon juice and sugar. Add half of the egg whites to this mixture and fold them in. Add your salt, flour and the rest of your egg whites and incorporate the mixture thoroughly.
- Bake for one hour or until your cake passes the “toothpick test”.
