Best Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour


Pound Cake Baking Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl combine your butter, shortening and sugar and vanilla, and then add your eggs one at a time mixing them in thoroughly.
  3. Add you dry ingredients and milk and incorporate completely.
  4. Pour the entire mixture into a medium sized rectangular non-stick baking pan lightly coated with baking spray.
  5. Bake for an hour and fifteen minutes or until your cake passes the “toothpick test”.
