Best Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
Pound Cake Baking Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl combine your butter, shortening and sugar and vanilla, and then add your eggs one at a time mixing them in thoroughly.
- Add you dry ingredients and milk and incorporate completely.
- Pour the entire mixture into a medium sized rectangular non-stick baking pan lightly coated with baking spray.
- Bake for an hour and fifteen minutes or until your cake passes the “toothpick test”.
